Alexia

I'm on that page with you.
Yes. My understanding is that the new Mezzo will have the same tweeter as the Alexia.

Barry - these speakers are amazing! If you're considering them, I think you would be very happy. My first Wilson "experience" has been terrific. Wilson obviously has the whole experience down to a tee. It's the little things that have impressed me. Things like high quality metal binding posts with the Wilson logo on them and a divider in between the positive and negative as a simple, yet, affective precautionary measure.

From the impeccable packing (wooden crates that are padded inside) to the well written instructions to the care taken for the protection of the final product with the use of a layer of film all over the speaker, I am thoroughly impressed.

As for the sound? I don't want to jump the gun as its early in the break in period and I don't have my new amps yet and my speaker cables are new too....but initial impressions are very positive. I'm a happy camper. :) :) :) :) :)

Mike did you get new wires as well?

I did! TaraLabs Omega Gold. I'm still shopping for PC's and IC's. Probably will go TaraLabs for IC's. Not sure about PC's. Nothing I've heard has really floored me. I may just go all Tara.

I know there are a lot of pairing with Transparent - but I just have a thing about boxes on cables. That being said, I would like to try them one day.

Enjoy the breakin. As a favor to the AS paparazzi I want you to buy with your hard earned money a high rez non iphone camera(think Hasselblad, Canon, or Nikon) and take some photos with proper lighting so we can get a more realistic view of these new jewels. WE DONT NEED NO STINKIN PICTURES! Only kidding. I thought perhaps a year-end collage of our most beautiful systems images might b fun to view. Your system surely will qualify if we can get some more well photographed images. I want truly drool worthy pictures if possible. Have a great weekend.

Nick - I know - the iPhone camera stinks. Maybe someone who knows something about cameras can recommend a little point and shoot. I don't want anything big and clunky like my wife's camera. Something I can stick in my pocket.

there u go. I think the iphone cant handle the reflections off the mirror like surface of the speakers. A decent point and shoot with and without flash will very quickly let you know which works best. We all appreciate great pictures.

Nick

Thanks guys - I will check them out. Any idea which one is better? Sony or Canon?

Sony is better but twice the price.

One thing to remember, for indoor shots ALWAYS use the flash. Especially if you are in a classic back light situation. Very important not to have open windows or doors in your photo. Keep your back to the light.

When you listen loud do the Accuphase meters go beyond the 0/100% reading into the red zone?

I quickly read thru JA's Stereophile review of the Alexia in the Dec 13 issue. I will go back through it in detail tomorrow since there is too much football then hockey on today.

To summarize it would be his speaker of choice if he were to retire today.
