I would never pay full MSRP for any equipment period. That's like buying a car at full MSRP and who does that?

It's very difficult to get any meaningful discount on Wilsons so if the minor dings don't bother you I'd take the demo pair. I would have them eat any tax on the sale and make it an even 20...what the hell is 19%?! I'd also bargain for a dollar for dollar credit should you want to trade up in the future. Good luck.
I asked my dealer if they'd consider parting with their demo Wilson Alexias... and I was surprised to hear them say YES. I finally learned the price they were asking was going to be only 19% discount from the $48.5K list price -- and the speakers have a few small nicks in the paint.
My fear is that the small nicks/blems will gnaw away at me every time I sit in front of them, to the point where I'd want to sell them. Knowing I'd never get my money on the used market, what do you think of my dealer's price?
I would never pay 80% of the MSRP for any audio component that looks anything less than Brand New. I am like Mike and Joe on this -- any imperfection bothers me and interferes with the enjoyment of my system (I know it is not rational!). I think for a high dollar item like the Alexias you should be able to buy brand new and negotiate a discount in excess of 10%. Also, a few small nicks in the finish would suggest to me that the dealer has been somewhat lax/careless in taking care of the speakers -- that tends to worry me.
... i also have been around the block i have many many friends in the busines and a few ennemies.in the audio circles in Montreal i am known as MrAcoustat and also ( COST + 5% )
i had that name before MrAcoustat.

The problem in this audio business is this; the audio dealers very well know that there are many suckers out there who would pay full MSRP!
We've all seen it; customers who come to the dealer's audio store and simply buy the best and most expensive audio units, without any auditioning, without any bargaining (dealing). ...Credit card thank you very much sir, the stuff will be delivered right to your home!
Andre you probably saw that too. I know people who hang in audio/music stores a big part of their life (I am one of them), and after a while they became part of the full tapestry. They know all the ins & outs, the repairmen, the delivery men, the product's representatives, the new and used stuff, and so much more.
And on the other way you have these individuals who come only once or twice, ask one question or two, and then simply spend ten to a hundred grands without any repulsion, convolution, convulsion, inhibition, question, ... just full price (or close to it) for all items they just purchased!
At least I never had a bad experience with any Hi end store but the Future shop and Best Buy....
When I was buying my Alexia's, the A-hole dealer in Miami said to me "if you want Alexia's - you're going to pay MORE than MSRP." They need a bigger store - just for his ego. At that time - he was the only Wilson dealer in Florida and was cocksure he had me over a barrel. Luckily that isn't that case anymore and he lost my business and respect. Wilson knows the whole story and should take the brand away from him. At least they granted the brand to a dealer in his own backyard only days after this incident. Just deserts I say! But they should still rip the brand from him....
I wouldn't make a deal on the Alexias until after I heard the new Sasha Series-2.
Cool story. Is that the one in Doral, FL?
