Just and FYI....I spent a lot of time last year trying to improve my room. I had major bass "suck out" and a terrible bump with certain frequencies. I did a lot of research and ended up with ATS Acoustics. I've had really good luck with ATS. They were able to take measurements of my room and make recommendations based on a computer simulated model. I've been very happy with the results, and the total price was very reasonable. I did my entire room for $1175. It was worth every penny.

Bob - invite any and all....so long as they are nice!

Ethan? Yeah, he's a nice and very peaceful guy; he wouldn't hurt a spider. :)
He'll love it here because there wouldn't be anyone to jump on him and beat the heck out of. :D

* The only people I want to see here at AudioShark, are people who are real nice people, with the best brain in their head, and who know how to use it with the most beneficial efficiency. :)
Count me out! :D

Wow, that's a great price, Mike! Someone offered to just do an analysis of my room for that price!

Glad you are happy with the results. I'm thinking about getting someone to take measurements of my room. I believe treating rooms are one of the best investments to make.

It totally is! I can't recommend it enough. If you want the name of the guy I worked with at ATS, just let me know.

Kind of an old thread but figured maybe others might have the same question. For measuring the room you can hire someone, but you can also use a program like REW to test the room, which is highly recommended. The problem with using a calculator to figure out how many panels you need is the calculation is used for LARGE rooms. Think concert halls.... It basically takes the equation and figures the ideal RT60 then uses the sabins from a panel to give you the number of panels (short version). The problem is a small room does not have a true RT60 as the sound does not have enough "time" (once again the short answer). Needless to say anyone that would visit your room would not use a calculator but actually shot the room then view the test.
