About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

Bass is overrated!

I'm actually pulling for the Allnic A5000/L3000 combo.
Maybe you are right. The Allnic's still in my consideration as well however every time I hear the Tenor nothing else is matter LOL yes they are that good. Simply best I ever heard. ( downside is since it has so much gain and my speakers at 99 DB i hear some noise when no music is playing )

Noise can be a problem with high sensitivity speakers. If you go the Tenor route, are you able to place it in between the speakers? That amp is a monster!

Paul,

I second what Doug said. Looks beautiful, like they were meant to be together.

Holy shitzinhousin Paul, you gotta buy it on looks alone. It makes the system look real!!!!!

Paul, once you get this amp mess taken care of you can get around to hanging those pictures.
doug should be the picture moderator.lmao!!! i had to straighten the ones on my front wall out for him also.
so paul after all that...... tenor?? im sure its an awesome amp but i gotta say im a little dissapointed that with those speakers your not running 300b's. you should at least pick up a used pair of 8w 300b's just for fun. :D
good luck with the shindo gear today, im betting its even warmer on classical than the allnics were. but i bet they are just an awesome combo overall with the westies.

Allnic 5000 or 6000 (non-DHT version) might just be the ticket. I tend to agree with Steve. I'm not sure I could pass over a SET design option with such wonderfully efficient speaker. If you want slam, a 845/211 SET design will give you the magic mids of a 300b and greater increase in dynamics.

It's all in the details Steve. The sound waves hitting a crooked picture will bounce off at different intervals perhaps leading to a feeling of vertigo or at least some weird inner-ear sensation.

;)

You guys are killing me. LOL

The 300B - I'm not crazy about them as Mike or Steve. Why ? I don't know .... maybe they are not for me ? I loved them on vocal and jazz but not giving me goose bump on modern recording and classical music.

The Picture frame- I always like the pic on the floor. Why ? I just want to be different ? Hahah. Doug, I haven't decide if I want to put some diffusors on the wall.

You know how we crazy audiophiles are Paul, always telling everyone else what's good for them. :) If you decided to chuck it all tomorrow for a Bose Wave radio we'd be right there behind you...

...kicking you in the ass!

I'd be at his front door kicking it saying first dibs! :fingers:

This is might be my first and last time to have the Tenor and Shindo together. So exciting....Yes my heart is start to beating hard again ;)

This is really exciting Paul. You will probably be the first person on the planet to have west GR, Tenor and shindo all together at the same time for a listen of a lifetime. Enjoy.

I've been excited for the past few weeks waiting for this. I'm gonna be going through withdrawals when a decision is finally made on an amp. How do we keep this going on for another year or so? :)

I am going to stop by Paul's place for a while tomorrow to listen to Shindo vs Tenor. Should be very interesting and above all very musical. Looking forward to it. See you tomorrow Paul.
