About to pull the trigger on Tannoy

I put the Auditorium A23 speaker cables on MC275's end for the first time. I purchased this without the audition. Is anybody using it ? If so how you like them ? Are they only good for the tube amp ?

Paul, I've been using A23 for a few years now. As far as I know they are still hand made using two different profiles of copper cable. I don't see why they couldn't be used for any type of amp but they were developed specifically for Shindo gear. They have a very natural sound to them and allow all the different textures of the music through. They seem very balanced to me as well. This may sound vain, but the thing I love the most about them is the way they look. The cloth sheathing is reminiscent of days past. They are very unique.

Here's a snippet from the importer:

Keith Aschenbrenner began experiments in the early 90's to find a suitable speaker cable to work with his then new line of electronics Shindo Laboratory. Mr. Aschenbrenner spent months with dozens of raw sample cables. After many, many late nights of twisting together various cables, trying many different configurations, cable contents, gauges etc. he came across an inherently musical configuration. 15 years later its still the most musically, harmonically and texturally rich cable we have found at any price. Inexpensive, handmade and awesome.

Nice pics Paul. The binding post is different from what I remember. Wasn't there some crazy looking octopus thing before? So when are you going to wax them?
 
Paul I have to ask, why do you need banana to spades? Your binding post seem to accept both, sorry for my ignorance but the only thing I can think is the sound degradation of using an adapter.

Yes it was. That was one part of upgrade they made on Gold Reference Series.

Wax - Probably soon. However I don't have a window on my listening room so I don't worry it too much

Of course if you wax them that means you're gonna' have to buy them! Maybe it's better to keep Mark guessing...:)
 
Paul's system sounded wonderful. All the usual audiophile chitter chat out the window here, This system is all about sit back, turn down the lights, pour yourself your favourite drink and enjoy the music at any volume. it was fantastic.

I agree Dan. Its little complicated . I have mono block and I do need 2 pairs of Jumpers. The A23 cables are both bananas end and my jumpers as well so need a spade on other end to make them work.
