hallo
thanks for accepting me at Audioshark.
I live in France, near Paris.
My main activity is in opera and theater as director and set & light designer.
I love music(s) . Althought I’m working in opera I spend most of my free time listening and discovering new musics, from contemporary scored music to improvisation, from acousmatic to experimental, jazz and rock, ethno and roots,... and the “classic” music legacy.
As much as possible I try to improve my audio system since my teenage. Now I own:
-speakers Magnepan 2.7QR
-ampli Jeff Rowland 112
-pre Audio Research sp9
-cd Meridian G08.24
plus my first Thorens td165 not used anymore...
I had to reorganise my library to contain more than 12000 cds (classified on computer one by one!)
Of course now it’s considered obsolete with DAC and Stream devices, but I will get them one day...

I hope to enjoy share with All of you my passion.
Since I’m not a technical expert I will be very pleased to receive your comments and suggestions.

my warmest regards

Welcome bp, I have fond memories of my ARC-sp9 I had years ago, modded by Steve Huntley and still in use in my sons system in Colorado.

Yes
the good Sp9 is (with the Thorens Td165) the oldest in my system but still very efficient.
By the way:
I’m looking for new tubes to replace the Sovtek 6922
in use.
Any suggestion considering the synergy of the elements?
thanks

I used Amprex Bugle Boys in my early ARC preamps and loved the sound. They aren't inexpensive but you only need 2.
