Just my opinion of course, not meant to insult anyone.

Expensive Bourbon.....I could only drink it mixed with coke so why bother.

Deep dish pizza..........Crisco laden crust makes me nauseous, NYC style all the way.

Japanese low powered tube amps........Give me Accuphase any day and let me choose my speakers.

Ha!

Great list. I've always wanted to listen to Accuphase.

Give me thin crust pizza everyday of the week. A nice bottle of Larressingle VSOP Armanac (same as much much pricier cognac, but without the big price) and some sweet sounding American made ARC gear.

I feel the same way about expensive Scotch - keep trying it and don't like it compared to bourbon. Have you ever tried Pappy Van Winkle 15 or 20 year old bourbon? Jefferson's Presidential Select? Four Roses Single Barrel?

I like Bourbon, mainly Crown, but don't drink it very often.
I will however admit I was taken aback recently when I drank some of this JD (I think Mike had to babysit me that night through pm's):D.
Its really good when mixed.

Expensive bourbon IS good by itself. You just need a good sippin' bourbon, but I also like most bourbons once they are "ruined" by a 1:1 ratio of added coke. :D

NYC style all the way :satisfying: BUT Sicilian pies are also great when made in NY. "Deep Dish" "no" Sicilian, "yes".

I have no experience with Japanese low power amps, but they wouldn't drive my speakers anyway, so I don't need an opinion on that.

No I haven't, my local retailer usually hosts some tasting events showcasing some of their Bourbons...will have to check them out. Rye, Bourbon and even Irish whiskey just don't agree with my palate, I prefer a Dewers or JB call brand than any premium labels of the other whiskies.

Best temporary upgrade available for audio on the market today!:D
"Recommended Component":P

I do not care much for thick crust pizza (not horrible though), and prefer the thin crust.

Canadian Whiskey and Tennessee Whiskey <> Bourbon. For an inexpensive bourbon seek out Bulleit or Basil Hayden both of which I prefer over Maker's.

I agree with you on #1. I'll take a nice Macallan 15-18 year single malt any day. As for the other two, well let's just say there's a time and place for everything...:)

Yep, All three would make any list I made.

I may get flamed but for me its music severs at stratospheric prices….
After all it is only a computer.

But the high priced ones usually don't look like computers. Having a laptop dangling from a hi fi system is like hanging fuzzy dice from your Porsche or Ferrari's mirror.

I agree but I have seen people having everything hooked up to a NAS and controlling from a I Pad
Also to me the Meridian Soloos is nothing but a computer dressed up in toxedo

I could name a few CD players but I'm not! lol, so I'll say this. I have a $1,200.00 DVD player and just bought a used $10.00 DVD player about $35.00 new for a friend. Sure the 1,200.00 sounds better and looks better. Well, it better! But not 34 times better!

Yes, it seems like that. I'm sure they put a lot of money into the touch screen interface - which was pretty revolutionary when it came out. Now, its sort of common place.

What I can't figure out is the Dcs "stacks" costing $100K. I heard the previous generation (Scarlatti or Paganni - I forget which one) and it sounded good, but certainly not better than the Linn Klimax or even Linn Akurate and my little Marantz (NA11S1) hangs with the Linn Akurate all day long and does DSD and has a plethora of integration (inputs, sources - like Spotify, etc.)

But its like everything else - there is a point at which you hit the cliff on the law of diminishing returns and gaining that extra 1% is going to cost you 300% or more. And yes, I'm guilty of it myself!

Actually the newer SooLoos doesn't require a tux since it looks like an oversized modem and sits in a closet and wirelessly connects to my set-up. . All you have is the iPad interface that is better than ~98% of whats out there.

I am not questioning the performances!
Just the cost of it.
And yes the big DCS are a bit high on prices but the tuxedo does count for a good part of the final price as well.

That's one expensive Tux!
