Wow--even right out of the box they sound fantastic! I bought them to replace a pair of Martin Logan Theos (the WAF was just too low, but she loves the looks of the DALIs!) I was afraid I'd lose a fair amount of clarity and resolution--not at all. These DALIs are incredibly transparent and detailed. Overall, not only did I not lose anything, I gained a sweeter yet equally detailed top end; tighter, more define bass; and just simply more body to the sound (not to mention the increased WAF!) :D Also, they look stunning--the build quality is astounding. They are so glossy that it's hard not to get reflections, but here are some pictures.

Wow...You ended up with the Dali Eh ? They look gorgeous. I like that finish and able to hide the Kimber 4TC cable through the post. Sweet~!

Are you using as bare wire ? Glad your wife likes them too. When wife is happy you have a peace in your mind lol

Thank you. No, they have spade lugs. Haha, yeah, when the wife isn't happy, no one's happy!

Congrats on the new Dali Epicons. They look stunning! I have always felt that the higher end Dali models are under appreciated since they do not have the appeal of a boutique brand. I used to own the Dali Euphonia MS4--sounded sublime to my ears with good amplification.
Enjoy the speakers.

The Epicon is their new highest level speaker, and it uses some revolutionary magnetic structure to improve speed and clarity. I have no problem calling this a reference or world-class speaker.

Yes gorgeous speakers. And I also like the Kimber cable. It is a pity they don't have these series no longer.... It looks like bi-wiring is possible. That could make the sound even sweeter.

Bachtoven...congrats on the new Epicon 2s. They look very nice! Enjoy them in good health and as everyone else has said, "Happy wife, happy life."

What else did you end up auditioning? I remember in a prior thread seeking advice on speakers to audition, you had mentioned you were going to go to your local dealer to listen to a bunch of different speakers. Just curious what else you listened to and how you arrived at the Epicons. Always interested in the sonic attributes that pull audiophiles in to a particular speaker or component. Thanks and enjoy them once again. They are gorgeous looking and I am sure sounding!

^^ Dynaudio C-1 and B&W 805D. (I limited myself to two-day stand mounted speakers.) The DALIs has less coloration and simply a better sense of realism to my ears. The Dynaudios were a close second.

Thanks. By "It is a pity they don't have these series no longer," do you mean the speakers or the cable? The speakers are brand new! Yes, they can be bi-wired, but mine is a multi-channel system, so that would complicate matters.

Thanks! They sound as good as they look, and the the sound should improve further with 100 hrs of break-in time on them. (Right now I'm at about 8...my wife is sick, so I don't want to subject her to non-stop music at the moment!)

I meant the cable:) Don't panic!
Bi-wiring is not connected to multi channel or not. It means that you have two pair cables between the amp and the speakers. In your case you have two pair of binding posts on the Dali's; one for the mid/high and one for the low. Maybe you have two pair of posts on the amplifier as well but even if not you can put the spades on the same posts. The effect is mostly better definition and separation of instruments. One of the reasons is that the impendance changes occurring in the low frequencies influence the negative feedback. With bi-wiring this has less influence on the behavior of the mid-high and therefore keeps a better definition. The sound will mostly be more 'open'.
I hope this makes sense. If you still have an extra pair of Kimber 4TS just try it out.

I've bi-wired before, so I'm familiar with it. I have a 5-channel amp, but I need all 5 channels!

Yes I have understood that. And my point is that you can connect two pair to the on post (I figured the Dali's are the main speakers?). You can even use one pair with plugs and one pair with spades. It is basically the same as normally the second binding post is connected to the other on the inside of the amp.
