don cherry | cherry jam … a 1965 (mono) recording of a performance for danish radio. previously unreleased, the performance as well as three of the compositions had never been heard since the original broadcast.

2020 AAA pressing taken from the original tapes -- 22 minutes cut as a 45rpm LP -- gearbox records (UK)

even if not the highest fidelity recording, it is still terrific music, an exquisite pressing, nice jacket and great cover art …just a really unique + fun LP to have and play. for those interested, well worth tracking down a copy.

john coltrane | my favorite things ...just released 60th anniversary version which includes BOTH stereo and mono mixes -- the mono mix, long believed to be lost, was rediscovered recently in a miss-labeled tape box.

high quality pressing with 4 sides of perfect vinyl: flat, no surface noise, no pops or ticks, perfectly centered.

other than the OGs, these are probably the definitive versions of this title ...and at $32.99 it is certainly the best value in audiophile vinyl by far.

Glad to hear it sounds good, i might pick this one up, already have the Classic pressing. But I would imagine it’s highly unlikely to be AAA. Typically Abbey Road Studio half speed masterings with Miles Showell are cut from hi-res files. Is this one an exception??

my understanding is that it is cut from the original tapes... however, there seems to be some question as to whether or not there is a digital step in the (ampex?) tape machine used in the cutting process.
 
Nine Inch Nails ‎– The Fragile: Deviations 1 - 2016 - 4LP. This album is insanely good. production superb and pressing pretty well perfect.

While on vacation I discovered a great used vinyl shop about an hour from my house. Picked up a Seatrain LP, as I hadn't thought about them in years. This was their third release "Marblehead Messenger". Nice mellow stuff that reminds me of Traffic.
