They are new speakers under the old Genesis name. I loved Genesis back in the 70's. I was saving for a pair of Genesis Model 2's for my first system. I ended up with a pair of Altec Lansing Model 3's as they were cheaper. I did not have enough money after buying a JVC TT and Pioneer Receiver.

That's what I did. I went from separates to a Levinson integrated amp with a great built in dac and supposedly a great phono preamp although I use my Gold Note for that.

I certainly agree with you but, when I say it sounded bad, it did. It was rough sounding, unrefined and almost veiled. The sound stage was not that big. And I have 2 of them. Like I said it sounds decent when paired with a 2ch Marantz recevier from the early 2000's with Monitor Audio Silver...

Agree. If you look at reviews on these budget ChiFi gear on amazon, a lot die within the first 6 to 12 months. These things are so compact and can put out high power but the caps are so small and are asked to do too much and they do not last long. Thats what my EE friend says who repairs...

This is why I have down sized my system as I approach age 68. I sold my 105 pound Pass amp and I am selling a 50 pound BAT preamp. Bought a 70 pound integrated amp. But stupid me, I bought a pair of stand mount speakers that weigh 66 pounds each, lol.
