Thanks for the quick reply, AJ! Those are both impressive speakers, and if the Titans are still in the ballpark of $22k, they look like a real steal. With twelve 12" woofers, they must dig very deep!
Yeah, Mike has never steered me in the wrong direction. He* got me hooked on Wireworld Ethernet first, then Shunyata Power Cables. Both are still in the system - and probably will be for the long haul.
* Puma Cat was also very helpful and instrumental in getting me to look closely at the...
AJ,
Your speakers continue to get great reviews, but can you help me a bit?
I don't see the monitors in the video that Mike linked to above anywhere on the website, and the same iS true for those beautiful tall towers that I've seen in other recent videos / show reports.
Is the monitor a...
We had something similar in Ann Arbor right around that same time. The owner had his cassette player and hundreds of tapes behind the bar, and he would play whatever he felt like playing at the moment. Good thing he had good taste in music!
You nailed it, Mike!
I could swear that I saw the photo in one of the websites yesterday and they were already calling it the S7. Didn't they jump the gun by a day?
Either way, that is one gorgeous speaker! Interesting blue footers...
Wow, I checked out his site and he looks like the real deal. I'll have him in the back of my mind when the old unit turns up at a garage sale.
Thanks for the lead!
Fair enough. I may have read too much in to your post. It read like it was written by someone with a much lower budget (like me) who wanted to hear about equipment that was affordable to them. Then when I saw your system, I thought...wait a second...
Beautiful system, by the way. I wasn't...
From what I've seen of Ron on the HiFi Five videos and your characterization of him here, he seems like someone who is more interested in civil discourse than he is in always winning the argument (even if there isn't really an argument).
The irony is so rich here that I had to do a double-take. (Did he REALLY just say that?)
Believe it or not, almost everybody in the world would consider the cost of the items in your signature absurd. Certainly nowhere remotely close to a "real life" system.
Funny you say that about fading memory. A week or two ago, my brother found a photo of me on Facebook in the front row at a concert from 1987. A friend of mine who was standing on my left was cut out of the photo, and when I told my brother this he didn't believe that our common friend Jim...
Yes, Erin is beyond attractive! But my point was more the iconic nature of that Farah poster and how many were in the rooms of teenaged males in the 70's than a proclamation that Farah is more beautiful than Erin or anyone else. Farah wins that particular showdown by a landslide in my personal...
I couldn't be happier for you, Mike. You have put in so many years of hard work to get to where you're at, and its great that you can enjoy the fruits of that toil!
Attending the show is a bucket list item for me. Hopefully I can get a couple of people together next year to go to Tigers Spring...
Yeah Ricky, she'll approve that for sure!
Side note - we could do a poll to see which of the men on this form who were teenagers in the 70's had that poster in their room. I think the number would be substantial. (Count me as a big YES!)
