I think there was a time when Stereophile declared the then top ASR model to be the best amp available. I believe Jim Smith (of "Get Better Sound") had one fairly recently and may still.
How useable is the user interface, e.g., with Qobuz? I use Aurender Conductor V4 and like it, but it takes some getting used to (especially for classical music), and I'm not wedded to it.
IIRC the volume bypass function is provided to allow integration with a home theater system where multichannel volume is controlled by the HT processor.
