I want to upgrade my dac.

Find a different dealer? A dealer who has something they feel is worthy and will let you demo. Even if you cannot afford the demo at least you can get a taste of what is possible. Just as anything else in the world of stereo’s not everything is created equal.

Switched to Class D or get left behind?

Easy twenty hours of playing time. The definition is spot on. FAST! Musical. Excellent sound stage. Albeit quite a bit of speaker repositioning occurred. Gonna go out on a limb and say the most enjoyable system I have owned. Years ago had a Theshold T-100 with an Audio Research preamp feeding...

Switched to Class D or get left behind?

In my case ignorance is bliss. Plus I’m a cheap bastard and simply will not fork over some of the $$$ being demanded by the various tube purveyors. Thus the JAN Phillips. I do have some Japanese Matsushita tubes coming from the fellow you recommended to also try.

Switched to Class D or get left behind?

I just put a different set of tubes in the preamp. NOS 6922 JAN Phillips. The AGD Audion will have a steep hill to climb. I’m really naive about tubes the change for the better in terms of system resolution has left me with my mouth agape. Time will tell.

Switched to Class D or get left behind?

On Tuesday (6JAN26) I take delivery of AGD Audion mono blocks. It is actually with a bit of trepidation. It will be interesting to hear if they blow the custom shop Class D Audio GanFET mono blocks out of the water. For the Class D’s are no slouches.

    GAN amp/Mytech

I have the Class D Audio GanFET custom shop mono blocks. They really are awesome amplifiers. Albeit a review at ARS was less than stellar. However Class D took it to heart and made adjustments. I have the adjustments units. For the money plus a couple grand or more I do not think they can be...

    GAN amp/Mytech

I have gan-fet mono blocks from a California company. Class D Audio. To me they sound good. But I think the manufacturer rolled off the amps at around 2KHz. The original pair were a bit shrill. The replacement units are not. I would love to get a quality amp in my system to do a comparison...

Switched to Class D or get left behind?

I have the Class D Audio GanFET mono blocks. I really like them. Would love to have a respectable amp brought in to make a comparison.

    HPDE track addicts?

Nope. No chance of that. However PVC gives off Chlorine went burnt and Pom (acetal) gives off formaldehyde. Over thirty years in facilities, throughout North America, which injection mold for sure contributes to the infestation of plastic molecules.

    HPDE track addicts?

When cremated I will melt. I have much plastic already throughout my body. Including but not limited to Polycarbonate, Polystyrene, Poly vinyl chloride, Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, Polyethylene terephthalate, Polyamide, Polyoxymethylene, Liquid crystal polymers, plus all the olefins.

Why I hate the loss of analog television broadcasts in America.

Guess I should keep up better. My antenna has been up since I had a ProScan television. When I bought a Panasonic plasma television they told me the television converted the signal to digital. Now I know better.

I have some beefs with modern audio racks and furniture.

I made my audio rack. Luckily nearby (33 miles and an easy drive) is a sawmill lumber yard that does custom work. Among the custom work is butcher block counter tops. Pretty much any size. So I had them make 1.5” x 22” x 36” finished red oak “cutting boards”. Bought legs and feet off Amazon and...
