Are there any Gryphon Antileon (any model) owners or even anyone who has heard one before out there? Am home auditioning the Evo Stereo end of July against my Diablo 300. Would love to hear about any experiences.
 
I listened to the Vitus SS 103 power amp and Vitus SL 103 preamp today with Devore Gibbon. It was a very impressive combination. It was very detailed and had a huge soundstage. I also liked the overall tone (a big thing for me). But, it seemed to lack something. I was not sure what until just now when I fired up my Diablo 300 and Magicos. Then I realised what it was: richness. I think Mike described Gryphon best with his “chocolatey” adjective. But with all the details as well. And with the speed and resolution of the Magicos, it just sounds good to me. I can’t wait to demo the Antileon Evo. If a tube guy (Kingrex - thanks for your post) thinks it sounds “not bad”, I can hardly wait :)
 
I should add that the Vitus SS103 is about 20% more expensive than the Antileon EVO. I plan to home demo both. Can’t wait.

The Antileon Evo stereo power amp arrived at the dealer’s today. What a beast! Gorgeous in person. The Diablo 300 is the one behind it. As soon as my MSB Premier arrives I will home test it. Can’t wait!

Exciting times! Any first impressions?
 
It was a fly-by visit just to see it being unboxed. I helped lift it out - took two of us and that was a struggle. 84kgs! Will give it a listen in the store tomorrow but the real test will be at home when my MSB Premier arrives. In addition to comparing against the Diablo 300, it will be fascinating to see if the MSB Premier can drive it well or whether I need to start saving for a pre-amp... I haven't committed to buying the Antileon Evo - it has to pass my "Holy sh*t this is a whole new level(s)" test : )
 
Have you managed to arrange a test for the MSB 204 power amps? Sorry to mess with your Antileon thread.

Speaking of the Antileon, I thought the Diablo was a beast... it looks absolutely tiny compared to the Antileon. Interesting to hear your impressions.

I don’t have space for monoblocks so am limiting my search to stereo power amps.

Pricing is also a big factor. Somehow my Gryphon dealer sells his wares for what seems to be a very ‘reasonable’ ;) price and he will give me very good trade in value on my Diablo 300 if I decide to upgrade. Seems like Gryphon can’t make Diablo 300s fast enough to satisfy demand out here in Singapore (and Malaysia).
