I have just learned that Dan (jdandy) has passed away due to complications from his surgery.

This is very sad news. I spoke to Dan many times by phone. He was always calm cool and helpful.

Dan was a valuable resource everywhere he chose to go in the Audio world. He will be missed.

May he Rest In Peace.
 
Omg! So sorry to hear this. RIP Dan. His reviews were always one of a kind.
 
This is the last thing I wanted to hear about during these times of doom and gloom with the corona virus epidemic upon us. Incredibly sad news. I did not know him personally but always appreciated his courteous, balanced and insightful comments.
I believe his wife passed away not too long ago. He has now joined her in heaven.

I am devastated to learn of Dan’s passing. What a kick in the gut. A nicer person I’ve never known, always giving of his time and knowledge for his fellow music loving brethren. What a gem you are Dan. RIP my friend. Your old 601s have been up and running nearly non stop this week in my system. Later tonight, I will listen with heavy heart to your amps. Maybe I’ll queue up some Liz Story as a tribute. So sad.

Very sad news. I know Dan only through his posts, which were always insightful. Dan, may you rest in peace.
 
wow- what disheartening news.

I hope owners crank up their Macs tonight in remembrance - he would have liked that.

I'm in shock, as others have said, a class act for sure. may he RIP with his beloved.....
 
this is quite sad news. both AS and earth are lesser places now. it is good to know that Dan is now with his beloved wife.
