Holy crap, Mike! Those speakers are incredible. I had no idea these were enroute, just that they were on your wish list. You sneaky devil! So, how do they sound so far?

Enjoy,
Ken

Lovely speakers Mike. So the Devialet experiment has begun!

How do they compare to the Epicon 8?

Mike why did you choose that particular model?

Myles, I have always been smitten with the Focal Scala V2's. See:

"The biggest surprise for me was how good the Focal/Aesthetix room sounded. This to me was the best sounding room at the show."

"In fact, at this years RMAF, the Aesthetix/Focal room featured on the mezzanine, was one of the best sounding, most musically enjoyable rooms I visited."

"My favorite speakers were the Focal Scala V2's. Even driven by modestly priced NAD, they once again showed such seamless integration between the drivers and an overall musicality. I first heard the V2's at RMAF 2013 with Aesthetix gear and was very impressed."

Truthfully, I was going to get them instead of the Dali's, but I second guessed myself. The Dali's are great speakers, but I've always liked Focal's, whether its the Grand Utopia's paired with VAC (see: http://audioshark.org/ces-135/best-ces-2014-a-4049.html#.VPBoOlPF9T4) or the Scala's. Big, natural sound. 8ohm load. Efficient - very efficient. And total adjustability (especially as you go up the line) for "dialing in" the speaker to your room. I would LOVE to hear the Stella's in my big room with the XS gear.

Some good reviews on the Scala V2's too: http://www.theaudiobeat.com/equipment/focal_scala_utopia_v2.htm

The Devialet 400 is also sounding great.

Hey Mike, hopefully you can buy them down there!!! But hockey pucks ($1 each) is cheap smart looking fix to raising the devialet in order to connect spkr wire spades to it.

Thanks Mark. Hockey puck? What's that? :)

I play hockey Sunday, I'll scoff a few then. :)

No arguments from me. They Focals were really good for show conditions and I like the monsters. Just was interested in your thought process. Bet they would sound sensational with your VAC electronics too!!!

No VAC here, except for a preamp.
