Cybershaft Owners

Why did you get a Cybershaft and not stay in the Esoteric family with a G-02X or G1?
I was using the top Esoteric clock cable MEXCEL 7N-DA6100mk3 but then I bought a Sigma CLOCK-50 and to my surprise the improvement was immediate and clearly apparent. So I sold the MEXCEL and bought another two Sigma Clock-50.
Cybershaft also sell clock cables, which are quite cheap. You weren't tempted to try a Cybershaft clock cable?

The Cybershaft 50-ohm cables are low-cost, spec-compliant decent cables; nothing to do with Shunyata audiophile grade offerings where you will get vastly
superior results.

We had an OP14 which was excellent and really improved the Esoteric that we used with it. We now have the OP21 which is a top performer and quite the bargain compared to some very expensive master clocks. Just FYI, the Venom V14 Digital power cable is a great match for the Cybershaft.

Ordering now. Thanks

This clock is just getting better and better and better. Was really surprised to the improvement it made. Hey, even as a dealer, we paid full retail! Worth every penny.

How does that work, dealer paying full retail? Or do they see you as an end user and not as a reseller?

They don’t have dealers. So, we all pay the full nut. With the PSU it was about $6K. FAR cheaper than I can buy an Esoteric clock for. But, SCAudiophile says the Esoteric clock is super, so I must try it. I was just a little skeptical since I read all the articles on the pro’s and con’s of external clocks. So far, I’m completely smitten with the results. Since it’s buried under my turntable rack (oh the irony), I won’t see it. And I still have the PS1 to add. But for the store, I want to add the Esoteric clock for the K-03XD, N-01XD.

I'd like to know which brings about the bigger improvement of its own, the clock or the PS1. I own an Esoteric clock, but I'm tempted by the Cybershaft.

My customer who bought Grandioso K1X, Clock, PS1 from me, says clock.

The Esoteric clock is a fine clock,..know of at least 1 person who had the G1 and found that using the Cybershaft improved it further. He eventually sold the G1 and now just has the 2box Cybershaft OP21.

Here's a fun test with any SOTA word or masterclock....leave it on 24x7 first and foremost.....break it in of course and really get used to your system for about a month.

Then without shutting anything down or changing anything, reconfigure your DAC, transport, etc..to use their default internal PLL or VXCO clock circuit. Pull the 50 ohm BNC or 75 ohm BNCs if you feel better.

Try to live with it for a single day.

Not only will you learn all the clocking has really been doing for you including the little nuances you did not pick up on while the big strides had your attention,....

You will hate yourself in the morning.

Trust me,...I did it once or twice,...thought someone sucked the life out of the system.

Never again.

Oh this quote interesting. I am a K1X owner and on the process of ordering PS1. I pln to add clock one day. It might be G02X or MUTEC REF10-120SE.
I don’t know how or where to buy a cybershaft.
Now I borrowed MUTEC from dealer, Yes I can hear what it does.
Never know that it makes bigger change than PS1.

Just Google Cybershaft Clock. They come out of Japan I believe.

How are you enjoying the K1X?

Thanks. Oh that is direct sale only ?
I enjoyed my K1X very much. I put CMS Center Stage 2 under it I heard a big change.
I wanted to have PS1 since the beginning and now waiting for it. But between waiting I borrowed a clock, and
Ohhh this is the first time that I can see I appreciate what a clock does. Long time ago, I tried Puccini clock with
DCS Puccini, also G02X with K1, only now the K1X+MUTEC that I think I can hear what a good clock does.
I plan to add PS1 first, until I saw you mention that a clock made more improvement, but that ‘s too late anyway
As I have on a process for PS1 already. I hope something like OP21A is not using a rare item to make. But the easiest
For me is the MUTEC as there is a dealer with clocks in stock. I should have had a chance to upgrade with PS1 and clock
Together if my job didn’t get hit by Covid19, so as of now PS1 comes first.

Yes,...as a Cybershaft customer I can tell you from all I've seen, it is direct sale only; this keeps price as low as possible as it is only Cybershaft cost plus modest profit
to ensure they stay in business versus having to add many tens of percentage points for distributors, dealers, etc...

There is only one exception I think I've heard of and that's a distributor for Hong Kong but I'm not 100% certain of that.

For Japan in-country purchases (use Google Chrome and enable auto-translate;

?????

For non-Japanese customers;

For overseas(English)

*I have helped several people determine what they might order and answer questions for someone serious. I'm a Cybershaft fan and customer; don't work for them in any capacity
and simply sharing what I know about this fantastic boutique brand and helping as I am able to. If someone is interested, they can IM SCAudiophile here.

Thanks, I think It will be subjected to 20-30% of import duties.
By the way, would you pls share how do you like Ps1 for K1X?
Sorry others for a slightly veer off topic of Cybershaft.

The PS1 improved overall dynamics and bass, bass definition, bass control. It was more of a subtle change than the clock, but still happy I got it. You will notice the greater dynamic impact and bass right away.

Thank you
I am making a wish list.
UPOCXO-OP21A-D
LTPW-01B
60 C.M. DC cable
Oh and that expensive 50 Ohm BNC cable.. ouch...

Cybershaft web shop now has OP21E-D as 4-output model for oversea customers. Anyone knows what the difference between OP21A that everyone has so fondly spoken of?

I sent in a question to Cybershaft yesterday on this and here is the response that I've just received which was consistent with what I thought to
be the case, i.e. the new modules perform at the same or possibly higher levels of overall audio performance to the OP21A's that we all sought
for use and many of us still utilize in our prior purchases. As an aside, to my understanding, the new OCXO modules are new-stock/Cybershaft
design versus the OP21A (my clock still uses one) which were curated modules from other sources.

Here's the response, apparently more will be formally published soon:

"We have been inquired many times about the difference between OP21E and OP21A, and we feel that we must seriously explain this difference.
In practice, the difference between OP21E and OP21A is no different for the products we are currently shipping.
We will clearly explain the difference between OP21E and OP21A on the sales site during December."

Wondering what clock cables I need for Esoteric N-05XD and EtherREGEN, to use with an OP21A? From their manuals, it seems I’d need 50 Ohm cable for N-05XD and 75 Ohm cable for EtherREGEN. Just checking in to see if my thinking is correct.

Also, anyone has experience with Shunyata Alpha or Delta clock cables? Sigma is too rich for my blood.

RTFM is always what I do and what I recommend; just make sure when you do with those units, to make sure you not only get the impedance spec confirmed but also that
the device to be connected accepts 10 mHz clock input. Getting forum feedback is great on specs/things needed however IMHO manufacturers' docs are the final authority.

Shunyata Delta and Alpha CLOCK-50 cables...yes, some experience here in testing mode. I found them to be accurate to spec, delivering good imaging, musical truth, etc and
tremendous "bang for the dollar". It won't surprise you that I say if you can squeeze budget and get the Alpha's to do so. If you can only afford the Delta, you still will have
a great performer on your hands and what I would pick over comparable cables I've tried from other brands over the years.
