Zeppelin on vinyl.

I bet they are sourced and re-mastered from 24 bit copies of the analog master tapes... Not re-mastered in analog from the master analog reels and then cut to lacquer. I could be wrong, but I doubt it....The Classic Records 45's are where it's at save for the Ludwig mastered LZ2 and Houses of the Holy.

I agree with Christian and basically said the same thing over on WBF. They make it sound like it was remastered from the original tapes, but they leave out what happened along the way to the vinyl being cut. My money is riding on that these LPs are being cut from digital files.

I know the last time there was a commercial box set release of LZ LPs, Stan Ricker did the cutting and the source was digital. I know because I talked to Stan. I was warned not to buy them.

I figure if I ever needed to remaster the sound, I would just adjust the sound via eq during playback.

Good move; some music recordings require some judicious EQ on our own end; more than on the music recording/mixing engineer's hand.

* Except for Beck's latest, 'Morning Phase'; there is enough heavy EQ and effect (CGI) and echo (phase/delay) on that one! :tumbleweed:
