My favorite artist over the last several years has been Richard Hawley. Unfortunately the first few tracks on his latest disc were definately throw aways.
Now the artist that I own the most music would be Springsteen.

The Jacques Loussier Trio, i am not a fan of classical music BUT Mr. Jacques Loussier is a classical pianist that formed this little jazz trio, it is not for classical or jazz PURIST it is a mix of both very enjoyable, there are 15 albums all on the Telarc label, classical music with a touch of jazz, so not only is the music good so is the sound.
For a minute there I thought you were going to ask an audiophile if they had ONLY one favorite artist. I can't imagine any of us only listing one person or group.
That being said, I also can;t say for certain that the # of albums in my collection is a perfect gauge of my favority artist, but obviously I do like them very much (for various reasons):
- Pat Metheny (group and solo and collaboration projects)
- Weather Report
- Porcupine Tree (and other Steve Wilson projects)
its strange but i listen to different music at my house than i do in my car. i have no favorite bands or genre on my home stereo, i have favorite albums but i listen to anything that sounds good, and is recorded well.
