Well I like these remembers threads.
It wasn't a smart year for me. 2 years ago I got back into audio after several years of not even having a stereo. And was happy for with my humble setup for 2 years.
After joining another forum and seeing all I was missing I got the bug and then joined here and it was all over!!!
I started 2013 with a scout/CA maestro. Traded to a classic/ cadenza blue then traded to my current table.
I started 2013 with a fosgate sig phono stage and a Jas integrated. And I got rid of em both and added a hovland pre and pair of snappers.
I started 2013 with a pair of kef xq20's then got r300's and now
Venere 3.0's.
If I just took out the middle upgrades I could have got to where I am for a lot less money.
So I didn't spend smart but I am real happy where my system is at in the beginning of 2014.
Wonder where it'll be in 2015? :) happy new year !!!!!

For me, 2013 was all about new music and renewed appreciation of my past year and the year before. ...Among billions of other things too, of course. And I'm looking forward to it as well in 2014; new musik. ...And a bunch of movies too. ...And much much more ....

Audio gear? Got everything I want already; only thing new was an Oppo BD player (103), and it wasn't even necessary.

The true joy, the true value is in the new music that strikes some deep peaceful comfortable chords in the soul of men, women, and children; in my soul.

EDIT: Oh, I also got a new PC's screen (Samsung 27"), graciousness of Mike, our admirable host here at the aquarium; thx again Mike! :)

I still have plans to add the Kronos table.
I still have my Cary CAD 211 FE amps and SLP-05 preamp coming.
I will be trading my Mc 6700 for a pair of 601's and either a C50 or C2500 (can't decide).

Other than that, no more whole scale gear changes. Add some tweaks here and there - but that's it. I would like some Wilson surrounds, but its not pressing.

2013 was a good year, met you guys, got my concept and ALOT of other things..introduced to a DAC

2014 I look forward to Mike getting tired of his speakers and donating them to me...LOL

Hey, I can wish, right ?

You must have a good Excel spread sheet because at our age I can't even remember where I've parked much less 40 something stereo transactions. Kudos to The AS MVP for 2013. Miraculously you have been able to successfully negotiate not only quantity but more more important tremendous quality!

Lmao!!!!!! I love that list :D !!!!! You are my hero!!
It's a sickness Mike , but as Paul mentioned some of us if given the pockets to do so would probably be right there with you. I for one would definitely be there.

Mike - So, I'm not sure if you have any kids of your own... but I'm completely fine with being adopted. :D :D :D

No spreadsheet....all by memory. I'm not sure what's worse - that it really happened or that I can still remember it.

Good thing it wasn't a decade list....

Then I'll take care of ' The Music' for you Paul. ...While you are investigating those new Rockport Technologies Atria loudspeakers.

Ha! When I get my Coltrane Supreme ( Your first comment was the right one :P ) I will ship the "Musik" speakers to you with the Merlot.

I will audition the classic. Will compare it to what I hear at CES. Certainly it has a Raidho style advance ribbon tweeter with active larger low end drivers. It or the smaller Vivace may be a better fit for my space. Just hope it can produce a coherent and seamless presentation. I have always been attracted to the quality both the Swiss and Germans put into their highend equipment. I am excited to hear the Zellatons and Nagra with Stenheim speakers as well at CES. Should be fun tomorrow.

Hi Nick,
I have been curious about these speakers. No way for me to demo without taking a trip as the only 2 dealers are in California. Which model are you demoing? I would be very interested in your opinions.

Anshul
