Question for Peter; is it possible to connect an ethernet cable to the optical output of the X1 via a sfp copper rj45 transceiver? If so, any recommendation?
Btw, I was so impressed with a used U1 I purchased, I bought a new X1. Absolutely love it. The attention to detail, build quality as well as sound quality impresses me greatly. Definitely a labour of love by the design team. Expensive, yes but worth every cent if you ask me. I have run it 24/7 for several weeks now. The Lumin app is solid too. One feature I’d like to see if possible is the ability to open liner notes/pdf’s as with Roon and JRiver.
Currently I have the X1 connected to a switch via ethernet and wish to buy a L1 and connect directly to the X1. My switch and router do not have an sfp socket and I’m not about to replace them or buy ethernet fibre optic convertors either. Hence my question about using a sfp/ethernet transceiver. I know I can connect the L1 elsewhere in my network but like the idea of connecting directly to the X1.
Cheers
