To make room for the WOM Paragon expanded its size for the second time in about three years. (Isn't that going against the industry brick and mortar trend?) Paragon was one of only three McIntosh Experience Centers in NA. On display was every product in McIntosh's current line-up including a complete 2K set-up in a room of its own. It was rather easy to audition various set-ups and if required they would move product into one of the larger rooms to pair with Wilson's, B&W's, Sonus Faber etc. This is typical of how purchasers such as us would audition gear.
When Fine Sounds decided to move to the WOM they wanted to display all of the products (McIntosh, Sonus Faber, Audio Research, Wadia) in one area of the store. The video takes you into two of the three rooms set aside for these products. In two of the rooms there are still several systems set-up. In the large open space as you walk-in they have many of the Fine Sounds products on static display. Not sure why they wanted to display their products in this manner.
This WOM takes up about a third of the store. The three larger auditioning rooms are on the opposite side of the store.
What I find different about Paragon from most audio stores, when Larry carries a line he usually has one of every current product on display. Every Wilson speaker, every B&W speaker, the complete dCS Vivaldi stack, all of D'Agostino's products........ There is the occasion when he has sold the AR 750's or the 2K set-up but the items us normal audiophiles want to see will be available for audition.
