Woodstock 2019 Festival - Watkins Glen, NY

From Rolling Stone, co-creator Michael La " Lang says. “It’ll be hip-hop and rock and some pop and some of the legacy bands from the original festival.”
 
There will actually be two Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festivals on the same date (Aug. 16-18) in New York State 150 miles apart. The Watkins Glen one is being put on by Michael Lang, the promoter of the original festival in 1969, and the Bethel Woods one is being done at the original location by the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Both festivals should be excellent.

Maybe the genres will be divided up between the two?

They are competitors so there will be overlap. Both Watkins Glen and Bethel Woods will have legacy bands. Carlos Santana has said they will play at both Festivals. I think Watkins Glen will have more contemporary performers, while Bethel Woods will lean more towards rock and roll. However, Bethel Woods has said they will have contemporary acts too.

Bethel Woods has a long-standing relationship with many performers as they have been a premier performance venue since 2006.
