I just bought a WW Platinum Starlight 7 usb cable. I had been using a friends and I loved it. A friend of mine brought over the new Platinum 8 cable and in my system the 7 sounds better. The 8 is much thinner and uses 28g silver vs 23g. I am not sure if that makes a difference but to me and my son, the 7 sounds better.

Has anyone else compared the two cables?

Yes, the 8 is much better, not only in sound quality but with soundstage.
Of course, we have different systems and ears so enjoy the one you think sounds best.
