I would like to share my thoughts on what I here'd today on Demo at my place.
Today I auditioned Evo 1 with my gear , Vitus SS-025 amp and Klimax DS1 DAC, in casual living room 4x6 meters and compared to my Verity.
At first the WB sounded a little brighter then my Verity but next I played some jazz and clearly the mid and mid high was better then what I used to ,
when we switched back to Verity I noticed how thinner the voice of the singer were compare to WB.
On the other hand on rock music there was a little failure, the bass and warmth was lacking a bit and in speedy parts of the track started a mess with instruments.
With jazz music all was there including surprisingly well balanced bass.
Eventualy there was no deal but I clearly understood that I'm looking for something similar to WB but with some more bottom octave.
I maybe have an option to audition WA Sasha2 at my place.
I relay would like to here your thoughts , please spill some more details on how you find your TAD compared to WB , what best speaker in this category you here'd and what you think on Sasha2 when taken in consideration the size of my living room.

thanks for write up . I have been thinking about parsivals , do you use the latest version or the ovation ? they are a beautiful speaker brand . I heard some wilsons recently and they were ok [watt puppy I think] but did not have the emotion of the verity

anyway good luck with the WB , they do look lovely and sound great
 
couple of other thoughts , have you tried the woofer on the Parsifal forwards and backwards ? does it help with the sound you are looking for ? and also bonzo on here always feels the verity leonore has a more liquid midrange . it might be worth trying as you like the verity house sound it seems

Does your dealer have a WB Torus? Sounds like its what you may need. Kev might lend you one if his? :)
 
Anyone compared the Geometry series (Cardinal, Resolution, ACT-1 Evolution) vs Magico speakers (M3, S5 & S3 MK2, Q7 MK2, etc)?

Not side by side, but I've got a rather solid sense of the difference in between the brands and series mentioned. Are you generally interested, or are you looking into some specific models for your own system?

Magico makes among the most transparent and high resolution speakers on the market. They can be remarkable as ultimate sound reproducers. But, you need to be really careful and knowledgeable in relation to matching, placement, room integration etc. to make them sing in a truly natural way imo. They're extremely analytical and revealing, and can easily sound uninvolving and "unmusical" under the wrong circumstances. The MKII version of the S-series as well as the M-series seems to better balanced, homogenic and organic in character.

Wilson Benesch do share quite a few characteristics with Magico on paper incl. a rather high-tech approach. They've been using a combination of cabinet materials throughout their series for years, incl. a focus on carbon fiber in the top of the line Geometry series. It's interesting to see Magico move in a similar direction with the new M-series. Wilson Benesch speakers does not focus on ultimate transparency and resolution in the same way as Magico does imo. It's all there, but they have a more relaxed, homogenic and dense presentation with great soundstage capabilities. More music - less hi-fi.

As for the pricing over here in Europe, Wilson Benesch offers much more value in relation to performance and build quality. The situation might be the other way around (at least to a degree) in the US.

Sounds like a recipe for success, WB seems like a wonderful engineering driven company.
Another thing I would love to see is measurements, I know, we don't hear paper sheets but would be great if Stereophile or someone measures them.

Worth adding is that Wilson Benesch is a true family business. Among the most grounded and humble people I know.

Is there a specific model that you're interested in?

I reckon you nailed it Marcus.
My WB Act 1 Evolution are wonderful speakers. Very natural and the transparency and performance has climbed each time iv'e upgraded amplifier. Which seems to be happening perhaps too often. Curiosity killed the cat and my bank balance hehe :D

Marcus - I really like the new WB Evolutions, have you heard those? They had two pairs at Munich.

On another note, have you heard the Magico M3's? They are indeed as musical as the WB's, maybe more so, and a complete departure from the Q series.

Hi Mike,

Did you refer to the "Resolution"? I did hear them extensively in Munich in two different rooms with CH Precision and Ypsilon. A truly impressive speaker with build quality and finishing to match at the price point imo.

You can get two pairs of these for one pair of M3's in Europe, which makes a direct comparison a bit less interesting.

Different strokes for different folks, but I do agree that the WB/Ypsilon room was exceptional during the Munich show.

Well, buying local at times when the USD is strong on many export markets does makes a lot of sense over here in Scandinavia.
