Hey everyone,I just had the opportunity to spend time with the new Wilson Audio WATT/Puppy at Paul Money HiFi, and I wanted to share my thoughts with the community. For those who don't know, the WATT/Puppy was retired in 2011 after an iconic 25-year run. Wilson brought it back for their 50th anniversary, and it's been completely reimagined with their latest materials and engineering. What impressed me most was the time-alignment system and the build quality. The X-Material enclosures, the new RelCap AudioCapX-WA capacitors with copper end-spray — this isn't just nostalgia, it's a serious statement piece.I put together a video review covering:- Sound impressions across multiple genres- Build quality and materials- How it compares in Wilson's current lineup- Whether it's worth the investmentWould love to hear from anyone who's heard these or the original WATT/Puppy for comparison.

WATCH VIDEO HERE

Setup for this demo:- DCS Bartok DAC- Dan D'Agostino amplifierHappy to answer any questions about the experience.

Very cool. As a WP8 owner for the last 15years, I was ready to upgrade. I auditioned the new WP and the Sasha V, with the intent to buy one of them. Then, I auditioned the new Fyne F703SP and was gobsmacked. I couldn't find any area that the Wilson's did better. This, from a Wilson owner, I couldn't believe it. Anyway, not disparaging Wilson in any way, as I think they are fantastic speakers, but thought you might like to audition the F703SP, also. I'd be very interested in your reaction to them!

This Speaker is for the very few who missed that particular legendary design.

No, i dont think it is a good investment relatively speaking.
Sabrina V, cheaper, is basicly as good as while looking living room friendly and easyer to set up.
SashaV is a step better while not costing much more and in about 2 to 3 years there will be sasha V2.

So imho, atm you would go SabrinaV or if you want to go higher, wait for V2

Wilson is a foundation speaker manufacturer in the industry and polarizing. Seems they fall in either the love or hate category with audiophiles.

The loss of David took with it the aura and mystique of the brand. IMO, they are not the same today as they were even 5 years ago. Not a knock, just pointing out the founders always helped carry the brand with their persona. One only need to look around at brands like Krell, Ayre, Mark Levinson and dozens of others. To be honest, 10 or 15 years ago, Wilson was a real threat. I was hearing the brand constantly. Today? Never. Like as in, never ever. Far too many speaker brands out there today who are innovating. The market has truly shifted away and the bloom is off the rose. It’s not to say nobody is buying Wilson and the brand won’t survive, it’s just that David carried this aura and mystique with the brand that doesn’t exist today.

I agree even tho I like the new sound better than what David designed while he was there.
