Wilson at RMAF

Very much looking forward to it, Mike! :D

Me too! I can't wait to hear the Alexia's and VTL. The XLF/Thor's Hammer room will be a real hit too. But most importantly, I look forward to meeting you and the Wilson family members.

I am excited for you to hear them too. Don't forget the Paragon room will have Alexia's with Doshi (This room is literally feet away from my booth). I would be happy to go in with you, and introduce you to Larry Marcus of Paragon, and have a listen with you.

Luke Manley of VTL is wonderful! If you have not met him, I would be happy to introduce you to him as well in his room. Luke will be running the XLF room on Sunday (just FYI if people were thinking of visiting us on Sunday - we won't be there).

Friday or Saturday would be the best time for you to meet my parents. We will be heading to Boulder for a few hours on Sunday morning. Just let me know, and I would be happy to walk you over to the Hyatt, and introduce you to them, and have a listen with you :)

Debby - that sounds great. I will be there Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. I will take you up on your offers! I look forward to meeting everyone.

I thought the Alexia's were going to be shown with VTL. No?

Yes! There are 3 rooms that will have Wilson Audio products in them:

1. Wilson Audio room: XLF/Thor's Hammers with VTL at the Hyatt Hotel
2. Paragon Room (Main level close to my booth): Alexia's with Doshi
3. VTL Suite: Alexia's with VTL

Wilson Audio at RMAF 2013

I am sure most of you heard about Wilson Audio's room at the Hyatt from show reports and/or forums (or even got to hear it at the show).

At this year's Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, Wilson Audio demonstrated the system that represents their state-of-the-art: Alexandria XLF supported by two Thor's Hammer Subwoofers. With program material including DSD transfers of some of Dave Wilson's legendary recordings from the 1980s. A video recap of the undertaking, from setup to the reactions of those who were there.

Thank you Debbie. This room was so much better than anything else, that it was simply, on another planet!

This is a great video Debb! ...With serious gear, serious organisation, serious people, and serious sound.

It reminded me when I worked, during my college years, for international music bands and artist performers; I was a light and sound technical assistant.
...A lot of preparation before the ultimate performance; equipment install from the the huge semi-trailer trucks parked just outside the rear main portal (entrance) and up to the stage. ...Lots and lots of electronics, musical instruments, wiring, crates, etc.
And then unpacking and installing all of this together, wiring it, all the mikes, and lots of sound checks.
...Then all the lights, and there were lots of them!

It wasn't a stadium but a major concert hall.

Thank you for sharing this; I have a deep respect for all the people involved in all of this. I have a very good idea of what it takes to put it all together and for the reproducers (performers) to pull it off at the end.

And I wish that all serious audio manufacturers would be as dedicated as the Wilson team was in that video.
Because after all that is what audio shows are all about; the very best sound performances available to the audiophile community.

* Get the room ahead, a day before, and set things up right.
Do the sound check with the needed tools, and fix the sound anomalies with the tools of the trade (acoustic panels, bass traps, deflectors, reflectors, ...). ...And get a good assortment of the right music; just like the Wilson team did.
