Why suddenly all the junk mail?

The amount of junk mail I have been receiving has increased exponentially in the last 6 months. I used to get maybe 10 to 20 a day in my junk mail box and none in my inbox. Now I'm getting a couple hundred per day in my junk email. Not sure why? And now I'm getting junk mail directly deposited in my inbox.

I have Malwarebytes and it performs regular scans. I'm running Windows 10 with Windows Defender and Outlook Express for my mail service. What am I doing wrong? Any recommendations? I'm seriously considering changing my email address all together. I have a Gmail account that I've hardly used. Maybe it's time to start using it? Any suggestions?

When we fix junk email, we will move onto stopping robo calls.

Probably visited a site or clicked on a message or link that made your info available for more junk mail.

In addition to sending the bad messages to junk, clear the history and cookies off of your computer. These actions should help some.

Start training your email client to recognize junk mail. I get a TON of junk but all goes to my junk folder and maybe once in a blue moon, I get one in my inbox. I have 3-4 main email addresses. All get a lot of junk but not directly in my inbox.

that's what happens when you visit the Russian brides websites :) I have noticed a 50% increase in phishing emails over the last month or so. they're either spoof emails or a Trojan disguised as clickbait linked to sites promising gorgeous, young, submissive (did I mention hot?) single Russian women.

Followed your recommendations. It definitely helped. No more spam in my inbox (for now). Thank you!
