I’m not a Detective, nor work for a survey company, just a curious Audio Junkie seeing how close everyone aligns. Also a chance for some of the silent members to participate.

Wow, that will take a while to tackle...

More often then not I am listening by myself, many times with my music buddy kitten...

Probably jazz vocals and progressive rock...

Weekend mornings, some quite piano mainly, Fiona Joy Hawkins; a little while after work for an hour or so to relax, and in the evenings, dim lights, etc...

Hmmmm, sometimes the equipment, but if I am getting deep into it certainly the music...

20-30+-, varies of course...

I am simply amazed how good music and sound equipment has gotten... how totally enjoyable this crazy hobby is!!!

- wife, sometimes daughter, friends & family, 80% alone

* What is your favorite genre?
- 50s-60s jazz

* When do turn on the tunes, meaning relax, let out some stress?
- mostly in the evenings after work or on weekends, especially on Sunday mornings

* Where does your mind go when the system is on; the music, equipment or both?
- shopping for more vinyls

* How many hours a day/week do you listen?
- depends on whether I do have new stuff, am evaluating or trying out something, got some cool new music

* Why is High End Audio the coolest thing on the planet?
- it is only one of many things I am interested in

* Why is High End Audio the coolest thing on the planet? I wish I had an answer, I just love it. Even though I can't afford the very high end iI still enjoy it, I enjoy reasonably priced gear the provides good value, I've been to Axpona several times although I'm not a dealer or necessarily looking to buy, I get a thrill from seeing and hearing the gear.

* Where does your mind go when the system is on; the music, equipment or both? - Depends on what I am listening to but mostly the bass lines
* How many hours a day/week do you listen? - Not nearly enough and less in the summer.

1) Me myself and I
2) Favorite Genre: That is a hard one for me, I like many genres. If I had to pick only one (mission impossible under normal circumstances). I can force myself to go with Prog Rock. Why that one? Pure prog rock often incorporates other genres such as jazz or classical.
3) Mainly weekends right now, working on trying to include a few weekday evenings.
4) The music, first, last and always. Music doesn’t care what you listen to it on and neither do I, just as long as there is listening.
5) I always wish for more, but on average right now about 3 hours per week, Trying for more if I can
6) IMHO High End Audio is not the coolest thing on the planet, many things beat it.

Who do you primarily listen with? Its such a lonely hobby, One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do, Two can be as bad as one cause two keeps talking over number one, Ohhh!

Why is High End Audio the coolest thing on the planet? Depends on cool. I actually enjoy my other hobbies more at least they get me out of the house and away from setting in a chair alone..

Used to be mostly myself but now with my GF, who seems to really like the stereo

Some form of modern pop/folk/prog/rock...?

After work, but I listen a lot at work too, since we have a killer system at Atma-Sphere.

I'm often marvelling at how good some musicians are with their compositions- in particular, construction of melodies.

* How many hours a day/week do you listen?
Non-work about 8-10 hours. Add 35 hours if including work.

* Why is High End Audio the coolest thing on the planet?
I really like music. I like being involved in all aspects- composing, playing, recording, mastering, album release, design of audio electronics, finding cool new music and playing it.
