Who owns Florida’s Beaches?

Mike nothing new, this has been ongoing for years that made it to the Florida Supreme Court and the top judges in the Supreme Court. A interesting 2009 article. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/12/02/scotus.beachfront.property/

We hassle over this each summer but we can control the right of way as its private, but you cannot control or enforce those that want to walk the beach for miles and miles and park it in front of the dune. But hey sell them some cold water, make a few bucks. :D

Same issues are faced by individuals who are prevented from accessing beaches in Hawaii, California and the Great Lakes states.

In Oregon the beaches are public. They passed The Beach bill 50 years ago that gave anything that gets wet - meaning the line of the highest tide - to the public.

All stemming from a big law suit about the hotels trying to make them private so the legislature passed the law.

I lived in Palm Beach for a half a dozen years before moving back to MN. The beaches are dominated by billionaires who own small strips of land that block access. It’s quite frustrating.
