Who has the best?

I'm so glad you hang around this place Cyril. Yet another great post from you.

+1. Cyril is a wealth of knowledge. I'm so glad he's here. I've asked him if he would be interested in reviewing gear for Audioshark (can you imagine those reviews? Look out Atkinson, etc.) - but he's unfortunately too busy.

Bugger me Cyril, threw another shrimp on the barbie there you did.
I am getting the Wilson Benesch Trinity speakers & 2 Torus Infrasonic Generators. The tube integrated is for lower volume listening.

kev...very nice! Congrats! The Trinity is 6 ohms nominal impedance and 89 dB sensitivity. Given that you are matching 2 Torus Infransonic generators along for the ride which come with their own amps to drive the low-end, and if you are able to use the LM 219 to drive the mids and highs only (not sure that is possible without an external crossover) which are likely going to be in the 6ohm and up region (although we'd have to confirm that), then that matching could work just fine. I would check with your dealer to see if the tube amplifier you decide on getting can be made to just drive the mids and highs, leaving the lows to be driven by the Torus' outboard amplifier.

Very nice choice with the Wilson Benesch. We don't have enough exposure to their products here in the US but I know Roy Gregory is a big proponent of their speakers and the Torus Infrasonic Generator (we can't call it a subwoofer otherwise the folks at Benesch would be very offended :D).

Cyril, that is indeed what I have planned, well played sir! Then again I could simplify things & go for Convergent Audio Technology JL-5, commonly known as the baby cat, 100w class a/b 50w pure class a triode.

kev...I find all CAT amps drool worthy :D
just for the record, i never heard the jl5's. but i have heard every other cat amp and preamp i think theyve made in the last 15 years, and all are outstanding and are tops in their priceranges. i could be happy for the rest of my life with my 300b's and a pair of jl2's in the house.

Kev - Mundorf caps. 845/5U4/6EM7 tube compliment and let's face it, that is one stunning looking integrated. Gorgeous. Wow.

Looks like that thing's on life support with all those cables going in and out, every which way.
Or maybe the opposite I'm guessing....;)

Yes, need to find out from a few local sources about the Melody.

those absolares are nice, one of my favorite combos at bobs place is the absolare/wave40 setup. he just got a new updated pair as well. and put those w.e. replica 845's in them. although i prefer the black leather.
