Which Vitus Audio Combination with Gauder Berlinas RC 8

Ok, so many points to make here. Firstly the new amp will have a lot more power and control vs the SIA-025 Mk1/Mk2. The extra 5 watts is only the Class A biasing. Class A/B power will be atleast double the SIA-025 Mk1. Secondly, Vitus measure power in 'true RMS' which is a tougher metric compared to other manufacturers which publish bs specs. For example, 30 watts of Vitus power would destroy 30 watts of Accuphase power. Additionally, the new amp should incorporate 'Intelligent Class A bias' like the SM-011 mono's, which ensures optimal thermal conditions for the output stage at all times (a key to Vitus's tube-like sound). Finally the SIA-030 will be a new model in the product lineup & won't replace the SIA-025, hence the pricing of the 025 shouldn't change in the short term. I'm unsure if/when the dac option will be available. To be fair, Magico give much less information about future product releases, so I can't really blame Vitus for keeping a lid on it.
 
Yesterday evening I connected the SIA-025 alone with the RC 8 (but only single-wired without BiWiring because lack of suitable cables) in order to compare the performance with the BiAmping-version incl. SS-025.

The BiAmping plays in a different league. Tweeter and midrange are more clearly structured without being intrusive. The bass is more crisp and dark. The entire playback is clear structured, has a pleasant volume and I heard a more natural, liquid reproduction with a lot of texture and detail with BiAmping.

With the SIA-025 alone the system sounds for me more "one-dimensional" compared with the BiAmpin-version. One-dimensional in this context should not mean "bad" but only not as good as the biamping-version. Hope that make sense.

Thank you for your comparison. At what volumes do you listen? Might it just be that the SIA 25 just hasn't enough power for the demanding RC8? Or do you hear the same difference also at moderate listening levels?

I listened with both volume levels, first moderate and then in a second round a bit louder. The basic difference could be heard in both scenarios, but much more clearly when listening louder. The main audible difference could be found in the higher and middle frequencies rather than the lower ones. For sure the RC8 asked for a bit more power than the SIA-025 alone can deliver. The latter applies especially for the bass range.

Has anyone tried the SIA-025 + SS-101 (Mk2) biamping combination? It is mentioned in the SIA-025 manual.
 
I would try the SS-101 hoping it could replace SIA-025 completly (giving you extra money to upgrade other stuff).

Diasoft, if you know of an SS-101 in Europe at the moment selling for a reasonable price, I would be very grateful if you could let me know.....providing you decide not to go that route yourself obviously !
 
Many thanks Narayan. Diasoft kindly Pm'd me the same link, but I've previously followed up all those cheaper SS-101 ads currently showing, and I'm afraid they are all scams.
