Hi,

I do quite enjoy the listening ideas from others, so again kindly share your playlist contributions.

Another twist:
a) why did you buy it
b) what do you like about it
c) recommended listening yes/no 1-10

So here we go...

Brahms Violin Concerto/ Reiner, Haifez.

a) building up my vinyl collection
b) Analogue Productions sound quality, good conducting by Reiner, Jascha's delicate play
c) recommended listening yes at 8

Herb Ellis/ Joe Pass live at Concord.

a) have it on CD and found a good quality re-issue
b) Jazz guitar sounds just so good on Vinyl
c) big recommendation 10, one of my favorite albums

Sinatra - "Only the Lonely"
Nojima Plays Ravel
Neil Young - "Live at Massey Hall"

a) I'm a compulsive vinyl junkie.
b) all are fantastic pressings. The first album very clearly illustrates why Sinatra is a legend. Can't believe us humans are capable of writing or playing the Nojima/Ravel piece. Neil Young at his prime and at his best.
c) all are solid 10's

The original vinyl of the Jaques Loussier's Bach variations, even though I must say I like his latest CD much better (not available on vinyl).

a) do have his latest great CD and wanted to try if Vinyl trumps it
b) do like the crossover
c) maybe a 7, but unfortunately by far not as good as the latest CD

Lenny Cohen/ Popular Problems. I guess CD any vinyl roles have shifted a bit since the noughties: bought the vinyl and there was a complimentary CD inside.

a) wanted to compare vinyl and redbook rip
b) the detail orientation comes through nicely on vinyl
c) this a ten - very simplistic, but Cohen's vocal art can be heard in fine detail
