I think amp/speaker is the most important relationship outside of the room, which I agree with folks you should optimize first.
Looking at the PMC Twenty 26 sensitivity and impedance marked in the HiFi News review, a good Class A/B SS amp sounds like it would work well.
For 5k, there are many good examples- my old Dynaudios had a smooth temperament as well and worked great with Pass X250.5. I'm not familiar with the CJ SS amp in your poll, so can't comment on that.
