What's The Best Way to Unmount HDD From Aurender N100H

Dan

I took his question as asking if there was a specific procedure for disconnecting the USB drive after the file transfer was complete.

Jack.......That's a possibility. I transferred some hi-res files to my N10 using a USB thumb drive. Once the file transfer was complete I simply unplugged the USB thumb drive. There were no issues with that method for me.

I am not exactly sure what Paul is wanting to do. Hopefully he will clarify his intentions for us.

Thanks guys! Just to Clarify. I have a powered external hard drive plugged into the N100H. Not a Non-powered USB thumb drive. When plugged into my Mac I have to unmount it first before disconnecting. I wasn't sure if I had to do the same for the Aurender.

Anyway I unplugged the power and then removed the USB cable. All went well.

Thanks again!

Glad it went well. Linux and Windows don't have an unmount procedure so you just unplug with the components powered up. Enjoy the N100 as it's supposed to be a great piece. I'll try one eventually but for now I am happy with Lumin and all the work Peter does to keep improving the brand.

Thanks Jack, it really is a great piece. I only have it a few days and it sounds so much better than my Mac-Mini that I was using. I can only imagine how much better it will sound once it's broken in.

I also took took advantage of the 3 month trial of Tidal that came with the unit. I was very surprised of the sound quality. It was much better than I anticipated from streaming music.

I think you will find your purchases of physical CD's will decline now that you have Tidal. The SQ is so good.

Hi Jim,

I was pleasantly surprised with the sound of Tidal. It might have the opposite effect on me as far as purchasing CD's or downloading music. I can now try/listen before I buy. I still think that Hi-Rez downloads and ripping CD's to flac files still edges out Tidal but not by a large margin.
