OK guys, what's on your list to Santa? Either real or wishful thinking.

Me? It would be a house with a better floor plan so I could get those giant Avante Garde speakers from Mike. Oh, and the extra money to afford them. LOL

Well, I got my R2R back this past week ($2000+ in repairs) and that’s Christmas for me.

I asked Santa for Jim Smith's book and some slabs to place under my speakers.

For the unrealistic wishes, I also would like a different floor plan so I can properly setup what I have already.

I bought the Callaway EPIC driver a few years ago. In my hands, it’s anything but “epic”.

Shopping for a new high-end music server. Having major heartache buying the only not-made-in-the-USA component in either of my two systems.
 
I need AES/EBU out. That limits my choices. $$$ also limits my choices. The rest of my system is very good but I am finding server prices to be staggering. I do not care about streaming capabilities. I doubt I will ever stream. If I do, my Bricasti M3 DAC is more than capable.

I did an exhaustive search and I think I am down to the best model I can afford from Antipodes or Aurender.

praying for coal in my stocking, given the energy policies we are being dealt I might need it for heat before the winter is over ..........
 
If you're prepared to consider non-snobby brands, take a look at the NAD Master Series M50.2. AES/EBU out (plus coax and optical), has twin 2TB hard drives, will rip your CDs and even just play them if you prefer. Album artwork out via HDMI to your TV, etc, etc. Includes a streamer too that you could explore at another time. No DAC.
 
I am thinking about building an Audio Note EL34 amp with the upgraded transformers or buying an Ayon Spirit PA. The only thing I have against the Ayon is I already have an Ayon player and an Ayon preamp. I have never had a system where all pieces are from the same manufacturer, it just seems wrong for some reason....lol. I will have to say both the player and the preamp are really musical and really stomped the pieces they replaced.

I like EL34's in general. That would be fun to build!
