Have already posted this earlier, but this gal delivers some of the best Led Zeppelin I have heard so far.
Vanessa Fernandez/ When The Levee Breaks, 45 rpm vinyl.
Really, really good. How do you pull off rock'n roll attitude and being cool at the same time?

I own this as well. My friend Wes was on site for the recording - he's the photographer. It's a good album but not the best. I prefer her earlier Use Me album. Give it a listen if you can...
Thank you for the recommendation. Listened to it, great music.
I think both are great, but I still like the Led Zeppelin covers a bit better, maybe as the delta between the original and the interpretation is bigger. That appeals to me.
Similar to this one: Susan Wong/ Bilie Jean.

In general I find new interpretations of excellent originals very difficult - if they are not different enough. Good examples IMHO are Susan Wong's accomplished interpretation of Billie Jean and the other side of the coin where she covers Pink's 'Just Give Me A Reason' on her next album and the jazz-up does not work, making her pale compared to Pink's truly incredible original feat. Nate Ruess.
