Chelsea Wolfe - Pain is Beauty. 2LP US pressing. I think I am in love. Musically this album is wonderful - electronic ethereal dream goth. And she is spooky sexy.

During my record store raid I snatched also some good ole Websters:

Ben Webster/ Saturday Night At The Montmartre, 33.33 rpm vinyl.

Ben Webster/ King Of The Tenors, 33.33 rpm mono vinyl - if you happen to have a phono-pre switchable to mono or a mono cart, this one sounds fabulous. I should really get more old mono LPs, quite fun.

An actual '59 pressing of Harry Belafonte's illustrious concert at Carnegie Hall, 33 rpm vinyl.

It came incl. a warning on the inner sleeve to consult your dealer, if you feared stereo recordings could damage your monaural record player. This release is rather remarkable, as stereophonic sound LPs only became available in late '57/ early '58.

A rather good sound for its age.

Really cool Blues Record from a really cool Blues Lady: Bonnie Raitt/ Dig In Deep, 45 rpm vinyl double LP.

She even manages to take the 80's out an INXS classic without it being any less classy. Like her 'cum tempore' soli.

My favorite American composer: Aaron Copland/ Fanfare for the Common Man and the 3. Symphony presented by Eiji Oue and the Minnesota Orchestra, half-speed mastered 33 rpm Reference Recordings 200g vinyl Reference Mastercuts. Everything honed to perfection, very impressive.

Listening to Copland it is easy to hear the parallels between him on the one hand also composing film scores and on the other hand having influenced numerous film scores composed later on. Most notably probably between the Star Trek Next Generation theme and the Fanfare for the Common Man.
