"What the" is right. Just a lot of psycho-dribble, their speakers website you linked too doesn't tell me anything relevant to understanding just what the heck that things is.

Choosing the right NBS Cable

The thing about suckers is, it only takes one!

Walter Fields of NBS thinks well outside the box when it comes to speaker design. He has intentionally been secretive about what's going on with the Butterfly so out of respect I'm not going to try to publicly blow the lid on it, and besides anything I might come up with would just be conjecture anyway.

But in my opinion his design choices are (as far as I can tell) valid and ingenious, and he's going way, way outside the box.

I agree with Duke--I've heard the speaker it is fast /dynamic and the passion from the mind of Walter Fields

Bit disappointing to see valued member of this forum cast aspersions on a fellow Speaker Mfg--to ascertain without Audition the "psycho-dribble" does not morph into a viable and standout product

purely on written word is poor form and bad business practise

I know nothing about their speakers, pre's ect. Seems like back in the late 90's NBS were the cables to have. I have no experience with them but my sense is....they are a long dead brand with nothing special to offer....a brand clearly successful in the past using nothing more than marketing hype. Gimme a black mamba !:snicker:

You're right, I know nothing about the speaker, and probably shouldn't have said anything. But you gotta admit, that website tells you absolutely nothing of the design, is full of hyperbole, and the prices are insane. So maybe if he wants to be taken seriously, pay some kid $500 to put together a decent website and deliver a focused message about who/what they are.

Thank you for the reply V1- appreciate your candour- yes the NBS Site is looking tired--been like that for last 20 odd years at least I reckon--Walter had great dreams---that never quite reached fruition--but I take my hat off to him for the ability to at least try something out of the box

I trust you would credit him that--did his speakers sell?--no idea--his friend at Precision Audio Woodland Hills may answer that

The NBS cables were quite successful but others have passed the baton today plus the plethora of Chinese fakes made the US business untenable -- I actually still have some- real ones --ha!

He made the speaker pictured as well--yes he's is an African American--one of the few in Hi End Audio I've come across at least

Good luck with your products--I've heard it offsite at RMAF couple of years back.
