What are you listening to tonight ?

First night listening to Frank Sinatra and Count Basie on my new system.....Great googly moogly!!!! Also listened to some Tony Bennett.....Great googly moogly, again!!! I then switched over to some Blue Highway, then The Kruger Brothers.....Danged if I didn't get my google moogled again!!! This system is killer, Mike!! The horns, strings, and vocals are just awesome! Crystal clear, clean, quiet, nice tight, tight, superbly controlled bass with just the right amount of fat. Kind of like a great rib eye steak with just the right amount of marbling. It's really starting to open up too...speakers, amp, and DAC. You can really hear it throughout the entire system. It's really coming alive.

Fantastic Tom! So happy you’re happy! You gotta love that DAC of yours.

Oh my, yes, Mike!! The dual PS MSB Discrete is incredible!! Makes the Pass INT 250 sound even bigger than it already is. It just seems to cleanse the sound of anything undesirable. BTW, the Pass INT 250 integrated sounds absolutely sublime. And I've only had it about 2 weeks. But it's been on for all that time. Same with the MSB and Roon Nucleus. The sound quality just keeps getting better and better. I knew it would improve like most components do but I didn't think it would get this good, this fast. Just 2 weeks?? I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks. I know the improvement will taper off at some point. But even if it stopped today I would still be totally satisfied...and then some.

As I've said in previous posts the Harbeth Super HL 5+ 40th Anniversary speakers are so synergistic with the rest of the system the second you close your eyes the speakers completely disappear and you're in a concert hall with a front row seat. These speakers are amazing!

Sorry, didn't mean to get so cranked up. But I'm so happy with this system it's hard to stop talking about it. OK, I'll shut up.....for now, ha!! My apologies for the thread hijack and straying off topic.

I gave this a listen and really liked it. I checked out a few other of her titles but Pearl seems to hit the spot for me. I forgot the name, the album right next to Pearl has a bit different sound but I want to go back and give it more of a listen when time permits. Nice voice and interesting childhood.

It's funny but it seems to occur quite often where I like an album by an artist (usually the first I try) but then can't find another that I want to play again.

Today and tonight it's Tony Rice Sings Gordon Lightfoot. Beautiful, rich, baritone voice and supreme guitar playing. Absolutely killer album that is superbly recorded. Check it out. You can thank me later.

Serious jazz session: Kamasi Washington 3-LP set/ The Epic.

I do like the volume 3 LP the most, it has great grooves.

Kandace Springs, Indigo, and, Soul Eyes. I listened to Indigo but I like Soul Eyes better. She also released a new song called Pearls which is the nname of the new album, not sure on release, but if it's like the single I'm ready to sign up.

Alicia Keys, Element of Freedom

I also listened to Stone Temple Pilots, Pereida. This is quite different for anyone familiar with the band, acoustic and layed back. It was alright but really not a Saturday morning listen, I'll have to give it another chance, perhaps a Sunday afternoon :)

Julia Kadel Trio/ Kaskaden.

Nice modern jazz from Germany.

If anyone would have told me I would be spinning 45s again, I would have thought they were crazy. With the box of Albums from the 50s and 60s I got recently, there was also a stack of New 45s. We spent the last 2 nights spinning them.

Many collector items such as the Prince Little Red Corvette Picture Disk, Purple Rain and When Doves Cry, both purple vinyl.
REO Speedwagon, Psychedelic Furs, Pretenders, Rainbow, Joan Jett, Cars, Asia and so many more.

I would have never thought they would sound so good.
