Soundkeeper Recordings, Kay Sa with Markus Schwartz & Lakou Brooklyn

I have the utmost respect for Barry Diament and have always believed his Equinox with the similar performers represented pretty much as close to state of the art in recording one can hope for.

Well Kay Sa is my new standard. Spectacular production. Got it on day 1 on May 1, listened to it three times yesterday and was amazed. I don't understand all the explanation of what he did in this recording but it is amazing. Whether you like the music is up to you, but I really enjoy it. A mesmerizing recording. It gets my highest recommendation.

I got the 24/192 WAV version which will require some metadata manipulation.

Downloaded the file.

Like Barry's other recordings, it sounds wonderful (especial the SAX) but these folks are light weight performers and the music is boring.

Wish Barry would record a top flight solo Jazz piano artist.

This morning I checked out some of the Master playlists, the Blue Note stuff was good.

This afternoon I guess nostalgic
Bad Company - Bad Company
Robin Trower - Far Earth Below. And several tracks from other albums of his. Sometimes I get in the moodto sit back and get lost in his older slow burn guitar songs.

Little against what I said as my top genre, but here you go...

Many of you are a tad before this genre, but not by much.

After watching Dirt on Netflix, I can’t help recalling these years just ahead of the grunge era we got to experience in the Northwest.

Yep, long hair, black leather jackets, concerts and all the rock and roll that came with it. I grew from it, many did, others are still the same.

Anyway great album, seen them live with Ozzy maybe in ‘84 and again as an opening band for the Stones within the last 10 years?

And blown away how good Quboz sounds playing Pink Floyd’s Animals.

IMO Pink Floyd got recording down from the start. Streaming at 44 kHz

Just selected Dark Side, and Quboz is simply amazing at 44 kHz it’s killing it. I will need to compare this to SACD and see what happens.

Lucinda's version of Angel is one of my regularly played tracks. Between her voice and Charles's sax it will take you to another world.

In addition to Angel two of my favorite tracks from the past couple of years are off this album.
Opening track - Defiant
Track #8 - Unsuffer Me
