What are you listening to tonight ?

This is a nice one, I like it better than their latest album.

I like it, too. I have it on vinyl, but this 2 CD set has some good songs that I hadn't heard before. It also has alternate version of one the songs. I think it is one of their better albums that I have heard, but I haven't heard but two or three.

This will put you in a Texas honky tonk...lol...Dale Watson and His Lonestars, "Live at the Big T Roadhouse", Redbook.

Bill Carter, "Innocent Victims - Evil Companions". Redbook. I saw this guy over at Saxon Pub last Thursday. Enjoyed the show, so picked up a couple of his CDs. This is the first one I'm listening to.

Bill Evans, Jim Hall, "Undercurrent", MoFi, 33.3rpm. I also have this on United Artist, 33.3rpm, but wanted to hear what MoFi could do to it. They did a very nice job, I must say. I'll give a quick listen to the United Artist version to compare after this album finishes.

Ok. I've given both records a listen and even though Undercurrent was originally an United Artists release, the MoFi version sounds so much better, it's ridiculous. It's almost like the UA version was recorded on a dimestore portable cassette system in comparison. I'm not sure how old my UA re-release is, but I know I purchased it within the last ten years. Needless to say, if you have the UA re-release, you haven't really heard the music, IMO.

The Carter Family, "MID THE GREEN FIELDS OF VIRGINAI" originally LPM-2772, this one is reprocessed into stereo effect....ANL1-1107(e).

But, it was purchased at an auction in South Dakota with 25 other LP's...total cost of $2.87. And six of them are in original packaging, never played, all but three are totally free of any imperfections, scratches, etc.
