Yes I knew EH Taylor Buffalo Trace Pappy and Eagle Rare were the same distillery. I was lucky enough to win 2 lotteries for Eagle Rare 17 year old 2012. Best bourbon I have ever had. Michter's I have never had don't why but since you mention it I will get out and try it maybe retry some others. It's been awhile you get used to what you like.and I was a tequila/mezcal nut for years (puroagave) then went the other wayIMO the Angel Envy is the furthest thing from 'spice' my tasting notes were dry fruit and roasted sweet corn. AE is finished in port wine barrels which mellows out the spirit. EH Taylor and Buffalo Trace are distilled in same house as Pappy Van Winkle and Eagle Rare. They're more alike than different, I rank them in the top class of 'straight bourbon' regardless of price, reputation, etc. The Michter's is interesting because its aged in used bourbon barrels and as such cannot be called 'straight bourbon.' The Woodford double oak is fine enjoyed neat, but IMO is best in Old Fashioneds which balances out the heavy oak notes.
can't tell, the glasses are emptyalso, its Riedel glassware (I like Riedel, but not for whiskey).
Rob you should try Zalto glasses , they are way better than Riedel![]()
I agree. But you'll have to admit, Riedel's are a much better glass to use when entertaining your more heavy handed friends and relatives... And then for some others, it's red Solo cups only.Rob you should try Zalto glasses , they are way better than Riedel![]()
the King likes Riedel, im the clueless one that uses Glencarin glasses to sip whiskey.![]()
