This is the speakers I choose after when the Harbeth life is over for me . Many of you know I do have my reference speakers as Avantgarde Mezzo XD and I’m so happy with them however I got itching on British speakers again so was haunting for another box speakers. ( same time didn’t want to go with Harbeth again , had ProAc, Spendor ,Rogers etc. ) and one day found this beauty out of nowhere . Love the way they look and the PRICE was shocker. $1,499 USD with dedicated stands. Whoa. So I pulled the trigger and I am extremely happy with result. They look lot like the all other British BBC type brands however the sound is quiet different. They sound more modern and full range. The bass is simply amazing with Kevlar drivers. Simply it fills my room with no problem (15x23 fts )

I tried with SIT3 somehow this speakers need some power to shine. Currently working with 50 watts amp and I’m still shake my head. How do they do this build quality and sounds for under $1,500 ? I do not know and make lot of other speakers brand to shame.

I only have about 50 hrs on them. They said it needs about 150 hrs. I will update if anyone interested. However I’m confident to say this is home run out of the park.

Thanks to Wharfedale and Audio by Mark Jones

Excellent post Paul.

I love mine too. They do need a little power to open up, but sound amazing. I love the looks and are a killer deal.

I've heard the Lintons in a budget system with a Line Magnetic tube integrated and a nondescript CDP and it sounds great! this dealer sells the snot out of that setup.

Glad to hear that. You know what ? I could live with them as only pair of speakers. No problemo [emoji1]

I always wanted to try a pair of Harbeth C7ES's if I found a good deal on a used pair after owning multiple Reynaud's. How do the Linton's stack up against the C7ES?

Job is great but Naim is so much better.

I’m itching to try either a Hegel integrated or maybe even something Luxman. Not 100% sure.

So far I’m very impressed with sound of Linton. They do not sounds like Harbeth at all so if you are expecting the warm and boxy sounds? Then no, the Linton sound much neutral and I would say they even have a better bass than SHL5.

However the Harbeth have their own right sound that romantic and huge vocal sound. So I would say all good. But please consider the Linton before you jump on Harbeth wagon.

It sounds like the Linton's may be more similar to the current Reynaud sound now that the son is running the company than to Harbeth and Classic Spendor.

Paul and I are stunned by the level of performance the Lintons provide. It’s an amazing feat.

I could see all the models being great sellers.

Based on their size and driver orientation I think “ Stacking “ a pair might be interesting.....not sure about their impedance load in a stacked configuration, but might be a fun experiment and not that expensive.....
Cheers.......

based on JA's measurements in Stereophile they average out to a 4 ohm load. If you stack them i'd series wire them for an 8 ohm load and you'd get a 3db bump in sensitivity to boot.
