Recently got into tubes. I never tend to do things half way so when I got into it...it was tubes tubes tubes. ..LOL

I have a nice tube power amp at home, but built this office system using an old motorola console tube amp as the power amp. For the pre-amp/input...I bought a $25 kit, put together, built a box, added some retro VU meters and voila ...Cool office system I run with my windows surface...

This little 12 watt per channel thing can actually drive my towers !!

Enjoy

Thank you so much for the post. I've been thinking about getting in to some more and different lower powered tube amps. I just love the creamy sound and on my Cornwalls, sublime.

Thank you for share...I never seen this tube amp before ..interesting...

Thank you guys...originally it looked like the picture below...you can see the small preamp I built and am testing before I built the case, the surround, etc.

As far as low powered amps, as a guy who generally pushes about 170wpc, I found out, its not about WPC but about sensitivity. Any speaker rated at at 90 or more DB (Klispch are ofetn 104db) can run on as little as 7 or 8 watts...amazing...

Here is a tube amp made from a Hammond organ amp...about 25 Watts per channel

Another console amp I restored...It was a Coronado ..about 12 wpc - very sweet sounding

Fun stuff

nice! I have one of their 3 channel jobs mostly finished-they sound remarkably good with high sensitivity speakers.
