Volume control in the PF Scion

I understand pink faun scion is designed to be used with a preamp or similar piece of gear to control the volume. Does that mean the following control slider in roon is disabled? Thanks. David

yes and even when the DAC doesn’t support we can also use internal DSP volume control.

Option 1: USB DAC supports it -> device volume control
Option 2: USB DAC doesn’t support -> internal DSP volume control
Option 3: SPDIF out -> always internal DSP volume control
