Vitus SS-103 or SM-011?

Thks, i ve read it many times.
I know that sabs require only 50watts amplification, but experience showed that higher wattage is much better!
Ri100 will definitely do the job, but i was wondering what the sia25 with 30 watt class A will be able to do.

The magic with Vitus is class A mode. A total of 25 watts with the SIA-025 or much more with Ri100, more watts but no class A mode. My Harbeths are only 83.5db efficiency and the SIA-025 has no problem at all because Harbeth have made it an easy load. My Raidho was around 87db efficiency but the Vitus prefers the Harbeth load. So it’s not all about efficiency figures.

What Raidho model do you have, Cyclopse?

i did exactly this and regretted it

the SM 011 are a much leaner more forward presentation - although they do dig down quite low, the overall presentation is vastly different to the SIA 025. I tried all sorts of things to remedy including adding one of Vitus's own preamps to flesh out the sound but nothing really helped. At the time i was using the Vitus MP Dac and transport as source. The MP Dac was also the preamp.

Thanks, so do you think the SS-103 would be a better match paired with the SIA-025 ?
I've been told the preamp of the SIA-025 is very good and therefore can be used with one of Vitus power amps and no loss in quality.

who knows ..... never had the ss103 in my system ....

if you dont want the SIA 025 as an integrated why keep it as a pre? I was told the MP dac was good as a pre ..... but its not.

I plan on keeping the SIA-025 several years by itself and add Vitus stereo or monos latter on as an upgrade.

Are your speakers coming alive at low volume with the vitus sia 025 or do you need to crank it up a bit ?

I can say, from my point of view, what happened when I added the SS025 to the SIA025/Gauder RC7 combo. Everything remained the same, timbres, dynamics, spatiality. The only thing that changed was the lack of distortion, which now occurred. In direct comparison, the SIA025/Gauder combo now sounds like excellent hifi. The combination with the extra SS025, on the other hand, sounds like real music.

No they don’t at low volume no magic, not enough current IMO.
The only amp that i home demoed and where the magic happened at low volume is the Audionet Humboldt so far.
I wonder how the Vitus SL-103 + SM-011 would do ?

Ok guys guess what, huge change in my system since I replaced my 2 Audioquest Firebird PCs for 2 Furutech DSP 4.1 with FI50 plugs.
My SIA-025 is now in another league, it even outperformed the Audionet Humboldt in a recent shootout.
You Vitus owners should take a look at Furutech DSP 4.1 PCs it’s jaw dropping!!

With a Vitus RI-101-2 needing a power cord, I'll bite.
What did it do for the sound and did you DIY it or..... from whom?
