Vitus RI-100 / SIA-025 Display Question

From the pictures I have seen the display looks very small. So, from a distance, if one is seated and the amplifier directly in front but about 10 feet away, is the volume level readable?

Also, it seems to me that it is just a one line display. So when playing music does it show the volume setting?

Thanks!

The volume level appears only during changing, and a few seconds after. During normal listening only active input is displayed. From 10 feet one line Vitus display is readable, but like I wrote - volume level isn't displayed always.

I sit about 15 feet away from my Vitus gear. Everything you need is quite readable when you need it. There may be a mint RD-100 and RS-100 for sale soon if you're in the market....

To me, the Vitus display is too small to view comfortably from the listening position (~9' away). It would have been better if both the volume level and the input # are displayed. It is not one of the best amp user interfaces I used.

Thanks for the replies. Useful information.

@Penthouse-D - A mint SIA-025 would be nice :)

Actually there a couple of used RI-100's on Audiogon right now, but I haven't ever seen a SIA-025. I wonder how much a used SIA-025 would go for...

I've never seen a used one for sale. The RI-100's are the only Vitus items I've seen regularly. Good luck.

Yes like I said I haven't seen a used one either. I wonder they aren't so popular. Yes they are nearly twice the price but still...

Maybe the simple answer is that people are keeping them...:)

You need to take a rather large step towards the SL-102 (pre) and SS-102 (power) at 2.5 times the price to improve upon the SIA-025.

I came close to buying an SIA-025 last year. I decided to stop working too, and cutting costs and buying a brand new nice Danish class-A amp didn't really go together :( It was lovely though. The SL-102/SS-102 (or 101 as it was then?) was even nicer.

[edit] - 25W per channel though. OK, 25 very special Watts, but that's a difficult selling point.

It is 25W in Class A. However I think you can also choose Class AB mode and get 100W instead. So it's like two amps for the price of one!

Sounds like someone getting ready to take a walk on the wild side. ;) Good luck on the potential new journey.
