Since jumping back into vinyl I have been trying to figure out how to store my expanding collection. Searching on Amazon and other places I was finding mainly storage boxes like we used in college or really junky built crappy racks. Also I am not into having another custom bookcase made and I prefer not taking up valuable space from books in our built in book case.

I finally stumbled across something different. Very nice hand built racks out of real wood. A couple in Ohio started this company building these really nice vinyl storage racks.

I just spoke with one of the owners, Brit. A very nice lady; her and her husband build these by hand. I wish them all of the success they deserve. I ordered one from her. It will take 6-8 weeks since they build them by hand out of my choice of hard woods. I picked Cherry!

If you are looking for something better to store your collection in I suggest taking a look at their website.

I just read Robert Harley from The Absolute Sound had some really nice things to say about these vinyl storage racks!

Looks like nice stuff, I like the album racks, which did you get?

I got one of the stand up album racks. It will hold everything for the foreseeable future and I can add others later if I so desire! I decided to get this instead of the double or triple units because of size considerations in my room.

looks great for last months purchases. where do you store the rest of your vinyl? :P

Hehe... they can make more :P...

Going to be a while but it should work great for us. Cheryal really wanted a nicer piece of furniture then the.... hmmm... stuff that was being sold on Amazon.

Really nice Lady, fun conversation. They seem like good people!

Nice! I think I will be happy with this solid wood one. I want it now :), but I know I have to wait for it to be made :(.

I use and love the LPBIN2 bins. For $330, each holds some 500+ records - sturdier and much better functionality than the Ikea Expedit/Kallax. Not as nice looking as those handmade hardwood units, but a joy to use, if you don't mind making part of your room look like a record store (I don't). Love the large top front-facing bins for browsing. I have 5 of 'em now.

Those seem like some pretty nice units as well. My wife really liked the wood furniture racks, but its nice to see other choices. Trying to find some "better" units out there I did not find a lot of good choices.

As a rule most anything you find is just going to be a variation of what we all grew up with in the record stores as they worked. The LP Bins are just a more attractive version of the racks we had when I worked at Record Bar in college. Yours have just moved it from "finished" plywood to hardwood.

True true.... when they work they work.

It will be nice when it arrives :)...

When I was searching it seemed more often then not what came up was the crates type bins that we used in college. Fine for a dorm room but definitely not getting wife approval. Then there was a lot of crappy built things mainly on Amazon. I was happy to stumble on a couple nicer built units like the ones you guys have and the Prathermade ones.

I've been purchasing the Prathermade boxes as well. They were doing special order black rods for me, but now that's an offering on their website. I just ordered one more. Brit is great to deal with, and it's nice to support a small family business.
