I have two McIntosh set ups and I like them both equally.

Modern Mc stuff includes the MT10, c2300, and MC275VI

Vintage stuff includes the c29, mc300 and now I just sprang for a mint MR78 tuner.

I was going back and forth: Which gear would I dress up with a tuner the modern or vintage? Chose vintage but that doesn't preclude future additions.

Pictures to follow

Thanks for your reply Joe. I was hoping to move into antenna discussions with the group. Perhaps there are other vintage tuner people on the site.

Hey guys, for under $5k, which vintage combo would you choose?

1. MAC4300V Receiver + MCD7007 CD Player (same period both of them) OR
2. C28 Pre + MC2105 Power + MR77 Tuner (same period) & MCD7007 CD player?

Saw them in Terry's list and I do trust his quality (MINT), so ..... am thinking.

All opinions and advises will be taken into consideration for final decision.

Jerry:

The 2 systems have much the same power output. On pure sex appeal, I gotta go with system 2 cause I love those meters. On the other hand, for being able to move the system around and convience of remote control its system 1. Since I can only dream of being able to afford such a system I don't have any opinion on the sound quality of either.

All I can say is I envy you the choice.
